Join us for an afternoon Beginner Weaving Workshop with Whiteny Crutchfield of WE GATHER in the garden at String Thing Studio!

Learn the basics of hand-weaving and get a head start on your first woven wall hanging. This session is perfect for those on the hunt for a new skill, this 2-hour workshop covers all you need to know to get weaving on a frame loom.

Skills covered:

• setting up the loom

• basic weaving techniques

• texture, and finishing methods

• all the while experimenting with a fun variety of yarns from the String Thing shelves.

Supplies included:

-WE GATHER Loom Kit, including wooden frame loom, two shuttles, shed stick, two wooden needles, weaving comb, and tapestry needle

-All necessary yarns

-Illustrated weaving guide

*All yarns and materials are provided, though participants will have the opportunity to purchase additional specially-selected yarns from the shop and are welcome to bring any additional yarn or material they'd like to experiment with.
