Introduction to Kettle Dyeing with Alice O'Reilly of Backyard Fiberworks

  • String Thing Studio 54 7th Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11217 United States (map)

Have you ever wanted to learn how to hand-dye tonal or semi-solid yarn? Alice O'Reilly,  the dyer behind Backyard Fiberworks, will introduce you to kettle dyeing to create beautiful and unique colorways using established methods and your creativity. Each participant will get three 400 yard skeins of undyed sock yarn (you can buy more on site) and have access to all other necessary materials. Additionally, if you would like to OVERdye some yarn that you already have, feel free to bring it as well.

The class will be approximately three hours- one hour for discussing color theory, practical dyeing tips, safety precautions, and other topics. The other two hours will be devoted to hands-on dyeing!

This workshop is limited to 8 registrants.  To attend this event click here.
